Spain beat Croatia on Penalties to reach EURO 2024 final
Spain have reached the final of EURO 2024 after beating Croatia 5-4 on penalties following a 0-0 draw in extra-time.
Spain will now face either Italy or France in the final on Sunday, while Croatia will play in the third-place match on Saturday.
The match was a close affair, with both teams having chances to win it in normal time. Spain had the better of the chances in the first half, with Sergio Ramos hitting the post and Alvaro Morata having a goal ruled out for offside.
Croatia came into the game more in the second half, and had a great chance to win it in the dying minutes when Andrej Kramaric hit the crossbar. The game went to extra-time, and again both teams had chances to win it, but neither could find a breakthrough.
The match went to penalties, and Spain eventually won 5-4. Sergio Busquets, Dani Olmo, Thiago Alcantara, Gerard Moreno and Mikel Oyarzabal all scored for Spain, while Luka Modric, Mateo Kovacic, Marcelo Brozovic and Andrej Kramaric scored for Croatia. Unai Simon made the decisive save from Dominik Livakovic's penalty to send Spain to the final.
