Chelsea Thrash West Ham 5 0 Piling Pressure On Moyes

Chelsea thrash West Ham 5-0, piling pressure on Moyes

Blues cruise to victory with scintillating attacking display

Chelsea strengthened their chances of securing European football next season with a 5-0 thrashing of West Ham at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The Blues were in devastating form, with goals from Thomas Tuchel, Thiago Silva, Christian Pulisic, Mason Mount and Kai Havertz.

Victory moved Chelsea to within two points of Newcastle in sixth - the final Europa League place.

West Ham, meanwhile, are now without a win in their last four Premier League games and the pressure is mounting on manager David Moyes.

The Hammers were second best from the start and they were punished for their poor defending by a rampant Chelsea side.

Tuchel opened the scoring in the 17th minute with a fine header from a corner.

Silva doubled the lead just five minutes later with a powerful header from a Mount cross.

Pulisic made it 3-0 in the 38th minute with a neat finish after he was played in by Mount.

Mount got on the scoresheet himself in the 46th minute with a curling effort from the edge of the area.

Havertz completed the scoring in the 85th minute with a tap-in from close range.

It was a dominant display from Chelsea, who were far too good for a West Ham side that looked devoid of confidence.

The result leaves Moyes under increasing pressure, with the Hammers now just one point above the relegation zone.

Chelsea, meanwhile, will be hoping to build on this victory when they travel to Everton in their next Premier League game on Thursday.
